Old Rockwell Drill press

Posted by – May 6, 2012

I bought a 15-017 Rockwell / Delta Special 15″ drill press. I put an Enco 0-1/2 X 33 JT KEYLESS DRILL CHUCK and a 892-0016 A039SEL PRIMEMOVER V-BELT. I fooled around with different motors and different shims. I drilled and tapped the table tensioner to capture a 3/4″ wrench on the tensioner nut. I scraped and polished the rust off the table.

Centerpunch + Drill Press = Tap Guide

Posted by – May 2, 2012

Tapping holes freehand can lead to poor-quality “drunken threads” or even a broken tap. Using your drill press with a guide tool lets you easily make good threads every time. This Harbor Freight automatic centerpunch can easily be converted back and forth between punch and guide in seconds.
