I purchased this device for my shop so that I could test out the fixed and adjustable C-C multiple spindle drilling heads I sell. I've used it to spin two spindle heads as well as 20 spindle heads. It is a great machine. It even has a quill notch and set-screw-like device to manage rotation of the quill. Quite a nice feature.

We suggest this unit to our customers on a regular basis and the only complaint we or our customers have ever had concerns the method in which you change the RPM rate. It's not a machine I would want to adjust daily because the belt and pulley set-up isn't very user friendly... But if it is being used for repetitious work and a lead screw tap machine isn't justified for tapping or you want to spin a multiple spindle drilling or tapping unit, it's a great machine.

If given the choice between using this drill press, a smaller Grizzly we own or an older, WWI era machine, I choose this machine every single time.

We even set up a special control for the motor so that it can be used in ultra-high volume tapping operations.

Only the speed change difficulty issue keeps me from giving it five stars. I'd give it 4.5 if that was an option...

If you want a relatively heavy duty drill press and can't justify an AutoDrill or want a tapping machine and don't want to go the route of an automatically reversing tapping head, single or multiple spindle lead screw tap machine or an even more expensive servo-driven unit, this is the machine to look at. Period.

I've got a video of the machine running a multiple spindle tapping head if anyone would like to see it. Just Google "A Very Simple Drill Press Tapping Operation for Multiple Holes" or check on YouTube for the same title.
