My mom has that Delta planer too. (She does woodworking, that’s why I’d put either a Filtrex smoke in/near the shop or a heat if I was to put up a FA system in our house.)

at my high school, in the woodworking shop, when the fire alarm goes off it automatically kills the power tools, which are on two circuits in the room, lights are on their own

same thing for the engineering classroom

you should make a relay that breaks power when the fire alarm goes, then i is guaranteed no notice it when the saw stops.
